Our client is a specialised accounting practice focused on farming and agri businesses. They need a qualified CA(SA) with agricultural or fruit experience to support financial planning, management accounts and day-to-day accounting for farming clients.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands agri operations and can work with farmers, investors and the internal team on practical financial decision-making — not audit or articles work.
Key responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts for farming clients.
• Support financial models and feasibility work for agri and fruit operations.
• Provide accurate, timely accounting on cloud platforms such as Xero.
• Work from orchard and vineyard data into longer-term business plans where required.
• Act as a practical finance support to clients and the team on operational financial questions.
• Travel to farms for client visits when needed.
Requirements:
• CA(SA).
• 3 years’ post-qualification financial & articles experience.
• Proven experience in agriculture or fruit (farming, packhouse, agri finance, agri business or a related environment). This is essential.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort with management accounts, budgets and forecasting.
• Able to work independently, communicate clearly with farming clients, and take ownership.
• Experience with Xero or similar cloud accounting, and Afrikaans fluency, would be advantageous.
